Therapy Services
In-person and on-line therapy
The online platform is the most attractive option for busy professionals who appreciate the convenience it offers. I have an office in Chelsea, near tech giants like Google and Apple. It’s convenient to subway and bus transportation: A, C, E, 1, 2 and NJ Path train.
Free phone consultation
I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to allow you to ask all the questions you need. Please call 212-352-0988 and leave me a voice message as to when to best reach you, or contact me by email. If I’m not your match, I’ll direct you to resources.
My approach to psychotherapy
As a seasoned therapist, I am trained in the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) but mostly depend on Psychodynamic Therapy. The Psychodynamic modality is most suitable for exploring past influences and relational dynamics. In the first session we discuss:
• An in-depth exploration of your history and presenting problem(s)
• Identification of your support systems or lack thereof
• Clarification of your expectations in making the commitment to therapy.
It’s not a linear-process, real life often intrudes. The process may involve anywhere from two months to one year or more, with gaps in between.
My style of helping
As a practicing therapist and educator, I can be gentle, tough, intense, and often funny. I can be persistent in tackling difficult issues, and patient if you need a slower pace to do so.
I enjoy working with clients from diverse populations and have a solid understanding of issues related to sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, and cultural and religious backgrounds. If it’s important to you to know about my background, I’m comfortable sharing it.
